Overview
The EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety, and Security) Senior Technician in Insulet Malaysia will assist a team of all-level staff, outsource service providers, contractors, and visitors, ensure their daily activities support business objectives, comply with cGMP requirements, and manage their performance / development. To provide safety management, advice, monitoring, and reporting in the workplace. Engage all staff in the EHSS programs that ensure safe practice in the workplace. The safety of our work focused on quality, being self-directed, being a motivated team player, and being a willing trainer—eager to gain and share new knowledge. The normal schedule for this role is shift working hours as the plant is a 24 / 7 operation and will require flexibility to maintain standards across all shifts.
Responsibilities
- Know and follow regulations that apply to Insulet Malaysia in their subject field to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Interact directly with all inter-department personnel and fulfill job requests in a timely manner.
- Check and inspect all work activities in IMY areas to follow EHSS regulations, ensure all work permits are completed, and all related rules are followed.
- Assist during emergencies to minimize impact on operation, property damage and environment.
- Assist EHSS Officer during audits (internal, DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, SPKA, KPDNKK, etc.) and annual authority inspections.
- Assist IMY job coordinator in Permit to Work for major repair work and ensure maintenance follows IMY EHSS guidelines to prevent workplace hazards.
- Monitor contractor work at site to ensure compliance with IMY EHSS rules.
- Monitor and manage CCTV surveillance and report any non-compliance to the EHSS officer.
- Follow up with and assist the security team in daily routine to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct regular site walk-throughs to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Review safety data to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk.
- Coordinate, organize and promote safety activities and campaigns to raise safety awareness on site.
- Conduct safety briefings for new employees and contractors.
- Randomly check on workers to ensure they always use PPE.
- Inspect equipment for defects or potential hazards that may lead to injuries or equipment failure.
- Observe employees to ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Conduct weekly visual inspections of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, alarms, smoke detectors, etc.
- Be prepared to carry out any new task assigned by a superior.
Education and Experience
Certification equivalent to DiplomaOccupational Safety and Health (OSH) Coordinator certification is a plus1-3 years of experience in Occupational Safety & HealthYellow book certification is a major advantageGood knowledge of Occupational Safety & HealthWell-developed communication skills with the ability to present to the team, management, and authoritiesGood spoken and written English and Bahasa MalaysiaCommitted to job roles without hesitationPreferred Skills and Competencies
Previous experience in a clean room environment is an advantageStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to adapt quickly to changes in daily work plans and EHSS matters in the production environmentMulti-language fluency preferred (English, Malay)Physical Requirements
