Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Application Developer with 5–7 years of relevant experience, skilled in COBOL / COBOL SQL and hands-on experience with DXC / CSC platforms. The role involves supporting core life insurance applications, including New Business, Claims, and Policy Administration, performing troubleshooting and batch support, and collaborating with IT teams, business users, and vendors to deliver high-quality solutions. Knowledge of system integration, AS400 / IBM iSeries, and product launches is a plus.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and maintain applications on DXC / CSC platforms.
Write and optimize programs using COBOL / COBOL SQL.
Understand user requirements and provide business solutions.
Translate functional specifications into technical specifications.
Support system integrations surrounding core applications.
Engage with technical vendors and business users to ensure quality deliverables.
Perform Level 2 troubleshooting and coordinate Level 3 vendor support.
Support night batch processes.
Assist in product launches and other enterprise application initiatives.

Key Relationships :

Reports to : Senior Backend Lead

Direct reports / team : N / A

Key stakeholders : IT team, Business users, Technical vendors

Candidate Qualifications :

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to independently support new systems.

Hands-on experience with COBOL, AS400, IBM iSeries, and databases (SQL / MySQL).

Ability to handle additional support tasks and navigate complex enterprise applications.

Experience supporting core applications using DXC / CSC platforms is essential.
