Overview
The COO oversees the university’s day‑to‑day operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance and excellence across academic and administrative functions. The role provides strategic leadership to align operations with institutional goals.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Higher Education Administration or related field (PhD preferred from top tier universities)
- Professional certifications in leadership, finance or operations management (e.g., SPA, CFA, PMP) may be an advantage
- 10‑15 years of senior management experience in higher education within a large organisation or MNC
- Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, campus operations and resource organisation
- Knowledge of higher education policies, regulations and governance structures (local and international) and experience working with MQA, MOHE, government agencies
- Demonstrated leadership in organisational transformation, digitalisation and operational excellence
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align operations with the university’s academic and research mission
- Expertise in budgeting, financial sustainability, and revenue diversification (including partnerships, grants and investments)
- Change management experience, particularly in modernising universities for competitiveness
