Overview
Manage the end-to-end freight audit process across all transport modes (road, air, ocean). Ensure that invoices are matched accurately to contracts, rate cards, and transport events (e.g., delivery confirmations). Identify discrepancies, overcharges, and accessorial errors; lead resolution with carriers and internal teams. Ensure timely approval and release of payments to carriers and vendors per SLA. Track and report on transport costs, variances, and financial KPIs. Provide cost breakdowns and savings reports to internal stakeholders and clients. Support financial forecasting, accruals, and month-end closing processes related to freight costs. Ensure accurate cost allocation to shipments, business units, or customers. Collaborate with carriers to ensure timely invoicing, compliance with billing requirements, and resolution of disputes. Act as the primary point of contact for client finance / procurement teams for billing-related matters. Lead carrier onboarding from a financial documentation and billing process perspective.
