Principal SLE (Supply Line Engineering)
Join Coherent Corp. as Principal SLE (Supply Line Engineering), responsible for developing and qualifying new suppliers, managing supplier relationships, ensuring material quality, and collaborating with Procurement and R&D.
Responsibilities
- Develop and qualify new suppliers or alternate sources together with Procurement.
- Translate supplier capabilities to the design team for new designs.
- Confirm supplier conformance, resolve supplier issues, and manage supplier changes.
- Review supplier material quality performance quarterly, score and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Lead material-level failure analysis, drive supplier to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement and R&D in selecting new suppliers to support cost reduction, continuous supply and new design projects.
- Review supplier part/product/process change requests and coordinate with internal functions for risk assessment.
- Guide and review supplier first article reports.
Qualifications
- BS degree in engineering, optics or physics; advanced education preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in high-speed transceiver testing or manufacturing.
- Experience with components inside transceivers and quality management of high-speed transceivers (plus).
- Good understanding of optical transceiver manufacturing processes, testing, specifications and application requirements.
- Knowledge of passive or active components (plus).
- Familiar with quality systems (ISO 9001) and industry standards such as GR468, MIL-883.
- Proficient in quality tools such as 8D, MSA, SPC, DOE, FEMA etc.
- Capable of troubleshooting transceiver failures.
- Ability to use data analysis tools such as JMP or equivalent.
