The Manufacturing Engineering team will be part of Lam Manufacturing Malaysia Operations, reporting into Global Operations. This function will partner with other Operations teams in Malaysia such as Manufacturing, Quality, Order Fulfilment, and Logistics to deliver Operations Excellence, driving high quality, productivity and cost-efficient performance in the safest environment.

The impact you’ll make

In this position, as Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will lead a team of engineers to develop, implement and maintain operation methods, operation sequences and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. You will work across organization functions to resolve technical, quality and production challenges, as well as develop excellence in product design and manufacturing. The candidate should have good experience in semiconductor fab, and be very familiar with capital equipment and challenges.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a manufacturing engineering organization in a dynamic, multi-product, multi-factory, global company
• Lead the engineering team on new process and module deployment including defining the criteria, designs, documents, builds, calibrates, troubleshoots and meet / exceed all safety, quality, cost efficiency and productivity deliverables
• Drive systems to maintain effective documentation of company products and resolve process and assembly issues cross functionally with Suppliers, Supplier Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, and Design Engineering
• Provide guidance on ERP system usage – SAP to manage day to day assembly issues
• Influence design decisions - BOM structure, product commonality, component selection
• Accelerate product transition and improve cost and quality performance
• Explain Assembly Work Instructions effectively
• Deliver product / program objectives for manufacturing quality, labor content, cycle time, and factory fitment
• Collaborate across organizational and functional boundaries to achieve world-class DFMA results
• Drive innovative continuous improvement programs focused on safety / ergonomics, assembly methods, and labor hour reduction
• Maintain a strong and balanced background in engineering, people management and manufacturing
• Provide sustaining excellence strategy in Wafer Fabrication Equipment through lean manufacturing
