The Manager – Contract Financing Specialist is pivotal for establishing and expanding Contract Finance as a distinct market segment within the Business Corporate Banking loans portfolio. The role requires critical evaluation of borrower performance risk and awarder payment risk to design and propose optimal Contract Finance structures, encompassing suitable facilities, limits, security types, precise ring‑fencing terms and conditions, and tailored tracking mechanisms based on the unique nature of each contracted agreement. The incumbent also serves as the primary subject‑matter expert on contract finance for Business Corporate Banking Account Relationship Managers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Evaluate the performance risk of a borrower, including past experience and track record.
- Assess the payment risk of an awarder, determining the genuineness of the contract and contract trail (including sub‑contractor situations).
- Prepare and analyse cash flow and repayment risk.
- Structure facilities, including facility amount and security structure.
- Incorporate all ring‑fencing, tracking and monitoring terms and conditions to mitigate performance and payment risks.
- Collaborate closely with ARM, borrower, contractor and awarder to understand contract dynamics on an ongoing basis.
- Conduct quarterly site visits on all projects financed by the Bank.
- Build and maintain relationships with awarders, tracking physical and financial contract progress.
- Work with product partners (Trade Services, HL Markets, Deposit & Liability Management) to meet client banking requirements holistically.
- Ensure banking facilities comply with credit lending policies.
- Review key risks in cases before submission to WSB.
- Preserve the bank’s asset quality at all times.
- Monitor and encourage utilization of existing facilities to increase revenue.
- Act as the point of reference for all Contract Finance matters, providing support and advice to ARMs nationwide.

Degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent.Experience
