Regional Product & Business Development Manager – Transformer
Role Overview
This role leads the build‑up and regional growth of the transformer business across Southeast Asia, starting with Malaysia as the initial focus and expanding to Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The position combines product and business development responsibilities, driving market entry, sales enablement, and customer engagement while coordinating closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support technical proposals and delivery. Location : Greater Kuala Lumpur (Fully On‑site, 5 days in office). Budget : MYR 15,000 / month.
Key Responsibilities
- Adapt and position transformer offerings to meet Southeast Asian market requirements and standards.
- Collaborate with factory engineering teams to support technical proposals, quotations, and customization needs.
- Identify market trends, regulatory standards, and customer expectations to guide regional product planning.
- Lead the phased rollout of the transformer business in Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.
- Develop new customer relationships and expand presence with key utilities, EPCs, and industrial clients.
- Support qualification and approval activities required for market access and project participation.
- Provide technical and commercial support to country sales teams and partners.
- Develop sales tools, training, and product collateral to strengthen regional sales capability.
- Assist in key account pursuits and major project bids across industrial and infrastructure segments.
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and service functions to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with marketing and communications on product promotions and branding.
- Contribute to developing basic after‑sales and service processes in coordination with regional teams.
- Track and report regional performance against sales and product objectives.
- Provide market intelligence and business reviews to regional and global stakeholders.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related disciplines.5+ years of experience in transformers or MV / LV power equipment (product management, presales, or technical sales).Familiarity with IEC / ANSI standards, regional utility specs, and certification processes.Experience collaborating with manufacturing or OEM partners for technical proposals and product delivery.Strong understanding of utility, EPC, OEM, and industrial applications for power equipment.Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills (English fluency required; Mandarin a plus).Comfortable with regional travel and working in a cross‑functional, fast‑growing environment.Nice‑to‑Have
