Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain the open-source platforms (i.e., Moodle / Totara / Gibbon / Drupal), including user management, course setup, and system updates.
- Manage database administration (MySQL / PostgreSQL) to optimize performance and reliability.
- Implement and manage Moodle plugins, themes, and integrations with third-party systems (e.g., Single Sign-On, payment gateways, analytics tools).
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning to enhance user experience.
- Ensure data security, backup processes, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, faculty, and IT teams to develop and deploy new features.
- Provide user support and training for faculty, staff, and students.
- Document system configurations, customizations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Stay updated with Moodle / Totara / Gibbon / Drupal developments, best practices, and emerging trends in e-learning technology.
- Attend sales meetings with potential clients and weekly meetings with existing clients to answer technical questions.
- Supervise the IT department, with direct supervision of software developer(s).
Job Requirements
5+ years of experience in open-source platforms, such as : Moodle, Totara, Gibbon, Drupal, etc.5+ years of experience in open-source databases, such as : MySQL, PostgreSQL and MariaDB.5+ years of experience in Linux server administration (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS).5+ years of experience in deploying and managing applications on cloud infrastructure, such as Aliyun and AWS.5+ years of experience in configuration and optimization of web servers, such as : Apache and Nginx.Experience in data analytics and visualization.Experience in administration of code repositories (Git / GitHub / GitLab).Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.#J-18808-Ljbffr
