Overview
The Leasing Assistant Manager plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day leasing operations of a retail shopping mall. This position assists with the execution of leasing strategies, coordination of tenant onboarding, maintaining tenant relationships, and supporting the overall goal of maximising occupancy and revenue. The role requires strong organisational, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as a solid understanding of retail leasing.
Responsibilities
- Leasing Support : Assist in sourcing and securing new tenants to meet occupancy and revenue goals. Conduct site tours with prospective tenants, brokers, and other stakeholders. Support lease negotiations and preparation of Letters of Offer (LOOs), tenancy agreements, and renewals. Maintain accurate and up-to-date leasing files, prospect tracking, and deal documentation. Serve as a point of contact for incoming tenants throughout the leasing and onboarding process. Coordinate with legal, operations, and facilities teams to ensure lease execution and timely tenant move-ins. Track critical dates (e.g., tenancy expirations, rent commencements, renewals) and follow up as needed.
- Market Research & Analysis : Conduct market research on retail trends, competitor malls, and tenant mix strategies. Assist in preparing leasing presentations, demographic reports, and occupancy analyses. Maintain an updated inventory of available units and prepare marketing materials for listings.
- Relationship Management : Build and maintain relationships with national and local retailers, brokers, and industry professionals. Address tenant inquiries and concerns in collaboration with property management and operations teams.
- Administrative & Reporting : Prepare monthly leasing reports, occupancy updates, and leasing activity summaries. Maintain CRM systems and leasing databases with accurate deal tracking. Support the Leasing Manager with budgeting and forecasting as it relates to leasing revenue.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.5+ years of experience in retail leasing, commercial real estate, high-end brand management or property management.Familiarity with lease terms, financial modelling, and retail tenant operations.Strong familiarity with luxury retail brands, trends, and clientele expectations.Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and organisational skills.High attention to detail, confidentiality, and discretion when dealing with elite clientele and brand partners.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Knowledge of retail market trends and industry best practices.Willingness to travel locally for meetings or industry events as needed.Working Conditions
