EY – Global Compliance & Reporting – Manager, Indirect Tax Compliance

EY’s Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) team delivers exceptional cross‑border client service from a dedicated centre of excellence. As a Manager in Kuala Lumpur, you will lead VAT / GST compliance engagements for EY’s largest multi‑country clients, partner with technology and advisory specialists, and drive continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as central point of contact for regional and global VAT compliance, coordinating with international clients and EY colleagues.
• Monitor and give feedback on the quality of indirect tax data using AI and other technologies.
• Review, approve indirect tax returns and identify opportunities to maximise client cash.
• Follow up on legislative and business changes to keep client systems and processes updated.
• Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve VAT compliance processes and client data.
• Coordinate VAT compliance advisory, technology, controversy and audit support.
• Report to the client’s Process Owner at EY (Senior Manager or above).
• Supervise, coach and lead team members.
• Broaden client relationship network and participate in commercial initiatives with Senior Managers or Partners.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with other sub‑service lines and facilitate cross‑selling opportunities.
• Propose improvement possibilities to raise effectiveness and efficiency of work processes.
• Potential short‑to‑medium term secondments.
