We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Manager to lead the full setup of our Malaysia office. This role is responsible for establishing compliant HR frameworks, managing all HR operations, and supporting the recruitment and onboarding of our Tier 1 Customer Service team. You will be the key HR representative onsite and the main bridge to the Singapore headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR setup for Malaysia, including HR policies, employee handbook, employment contracts, and statutory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to Malaysia labour laws (Employment Act, OT / shift rules, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB) and manage regulatory filings.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for the Malaysia office, starting with Tier 1 Customer Service and operations roles.
- Drive onboarding and HR operations, including payroll coordination, leave administration, benefits, HRIS setup, and employee records.
- Support office setup activities (vendors, equipment, workspace readiness).
- Act as the main HR point of contact onsite, handling employee relations, performance matters, and HR queries.
- Prepare regular HR reports and updates for Singapore management.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years HR experience in Malaysia, with strong grounding in employment law and statutory requirements.Proven experience in HR operations, compliance, recruitment, and drafting HR documentation.Experience supporting new office setup or HR start-up environments is highly preferred.Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.Mandarin proficiency is an advantage for cross-border coordination.Seniority level
