Technician, Information System

Gas Malaysia Berhad is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technician, Information System to join our Group Information Technology Department under the Infrastructure & End User Computing Section . This role is key in supporting the Group’s IT operations, providing day-to-day end-user assistance, ensuring system availability, and maintaining IT assets.

Key Responsibilities

System & Network Maintenance

Assist in maintaining network servers, installing system / software upgrades, and carrying out preventive maintenance.

Support LAN-related matters including cabling, traffic monitoring, network printing, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Hardware, Software & End-User Support

Liaise with vendors for hardware and software installation and maintenance in line with company procedures.

Provide day-to-day end-user support for PCs, notebooks, and printers across the company to ensure business continuity.

Audit & Inventory Management

Assist in periodic hardware and software audits to ensure compliance and proper allocation.

Document, maintain, and update IT inventory including PC specifications, software licenses, and networking equipment.

Actively engage with colleagues across departments to drive shared objectives and innovation.

Contribute knowledge to cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Support IT contributions in cross-departmental projects.

Promote inclusivity, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement in daily work.

Focus on enhancing internal customer experience and adapting to emerging technologies.

Requirements

Minimum Certificate in IT or equivalent.

At least 1 year of experience in supporting networking, PCs, notebooks, printers, and end-user operations.

Familiarity with IT equipment, Windows OS, printers, and devices; basic knowledge of LAN / WAN and end-user computing.

Knowledge in video conferencing solutions.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, able to handle multiple user requests simultaneously.

Good communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.

Adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to integrity and continuous learning.
