We are looking for an experienced and reliable Assistant Manager, Accounts & Finance to oversee the financial and accounting operations of our F&B business. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of F&B cost control and accounting processes, and the ability to lead a small finance team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage daily accounting operations , including accounts payable / receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, petty cash, and expense claims.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all sales, purchases, and expenses, including verification of outlet sales and POS system reports.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, cash flow statements, and financial performance reports for management decision-making.
- Assist in the annual budget and forecast preparation , analyzing variances and providing actionable insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee inventory costing, cost of goods sold (COGS), and wastage monitoring in collaboration with the Operations and Kitchen teams.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, SOPs, and accounting policies to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and relevant authorities (LHDN, EPF, SOCSO, SST, etc.) to ensure timely submission of statutory requirements.
- Manage SST filings, payroll accounting, and other statutory submissions in accordance with Malaysian regulations.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of accounting systems such as SQL Accounting for better operational efficiency.
- Lead, guide, and develop the accounting team to ensure high standards of accuracy, accountability, and teamwork.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification.Minimum 5 years of working experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.Experience in the F&B or hospitality industry is mandatory.Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, SST, and payroll processes.Proficient in SQL Accounting Software, with advanced Excel and MS Office skills.Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with operations, kitchen, and management teams.High integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Saloma Kuala Lumpur by 2x
