Air Freight Manager

Oversee day-to-day air freight operations, including booking, scheduling, and tracking shipments.

Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods by managing air freight schedules and routes.

Resolve any issues or disruptions in the air freight process and implement corrective actions.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with all relevant international and domestic regulations, including customs requirements and air cargo security protocols.

Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards, and adjust operations as necessary.

Vendor and Carrier Management

Develop and maintain relationships with airlines, freight forwarders, and other service providers.

Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to achieve optimal terms and cost savings.

Monitor carrier performance and address any service quality issues.

Cost Management

Manage and optimize air freight budgets and expenses.

Analyse freight cost data and implement strategies for cost reduction while maintaining service quality.

Prepare and present regular reports on air freight performance and cost metrics.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of air freight coordinators and support staff.

Set clear goals and objectives for team members, and conduct performance evaluations.

Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Customer Service

Interface with customers to provide updates on shipment status and address any concerns or inquiries.

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering accurate and timely information.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of air freight operations.

Stay informed about industry trends and technologies that could benefit the company's air freight processes.

Job Requirement

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like logistics or business, more than 8 years of experience in air freight operations, strong leadership and analytical skills, and knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs clearance processes.

Proficiency with logistics management software, strong communication skills for managing diverse stakeholders, and experience with temperature-sensitive cargo are also common requirements.
