Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s corporate finance strategy, including capital raising, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Structure and secure financing for property developments, including loans, bonds, and other financial instruments.
- Collaborate and assisting Business Units on their financing needs.
- Conduct analysis, and feasibility studies to support investment decisions and project viability.
- Managing the annual rating exercise with local rating agency
Capital Management and Fundraising
Oversee capital-raising activities, including debt financing, equity financing, and structured finance solutions for property development projects.Structure and negotiate financing deals, including syndicated loans, bonds, and other financial instruments, to optimize the company’s capital structure.Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure financial stability and project delivery.Banking and Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial banks, investment banks, and other financial institutions in Malaysia and the region.Negotiate favorable terms for loans, credit facilities, and banking services to support project financing and operational needs.Act as the primary liaison between the company and financial institutions, ensuring compliance with banking covenants and agreements.Risk Management and Compliance
Identify and mitigate financial risks related to interest rates, foreign exchange, and project-specific financing.Ensure compliance with Malaysian financial regulations, including those set by Bank Negara Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia, and other relevant authorities.Oversee the preparation of financial reports and ensure adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).Project Financing and Investment Analysis
Evaluate the financial viability of new property development projects, including feasibility studies, return on investment (ROI), and net present value (NPV) analyses.Collaborate with project teams to structure financing for large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.Monitor project budgets and financial performance, providing recommendations to optimize costs and returns.Leadership and Team Management
Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Provide strategic guidance to the finance team in areas such as treasury management, financial modeling, and risk assessment.Collaborate with other departments, including project management, sales, and legal, to align financial strategies with operational goals.Stakeholder Engagement
Prepare and present financial reports, proposals, and strategic plans to the Board of Directors, shareholders, and senior management.Engage with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders to communicate the company’s financial performance and growth strategy.Represent the company in industry forums, financial negotiations, and regulatory discussions.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred.Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in corporate finance, banking, or investment management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven track record in structuring and securing financing for large-scale property development projects in Malaysia or the region.Strong understanding of the Malaysian property market, financial regulations, and banking landscape.Experience in negotiating with financial institutions, managing debt instruments, and optimizing capital structures.Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting tools.Working location : Setia AlamSeniority level
