Finance Controller ( Hospitality Division Group )
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Controller to oversee the financial operations within our Hospitality Division. This individual will be responsible for managing financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal financial policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the unique financial dynamics within the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and budgets for the hospitality division.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights on variances to help improve decision-making and profitability.
- Support senior management in strategic financial planning, including cost control and resource allocation.
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, ensuring they comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Present financial performance and recommendations to senior leadership in regular meetings.
Cost Control & Profitability
Monitor and track operating expenses, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.Evaluate pricing strategies and provide financial insights to help optimize revenue streams.Ensure that all financial practices comply with applicable regulations and company policies.Internal Controls & Compliance
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard financial assets.Monitor compliance with financial regulations and best practices within the hospitality industry.Oversee audits and ensure that any financial discrepancies are addressed promptly.Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations.Oversee cash management practices, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation processes.Coordinate with banks and other financial institutions to optimize cash management and financial transactions.Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing guidance on financial processes, tools, and career development. Foster a collaborative and performance-driven environment to meet divisional goals. Drive efficiency and innovation within the team to continuously improve financial reporting and operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role, with at least 10 years in the hospitality industry.Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and hospitality-specific financial practices.Proven experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis in a multi-unit or division setting.Proficient in financial software (Opera PMS System, Oracle, property QMS system and Finance Q3) and advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Knowledge of industry regulations, financial compliance, and audit requirements in hospitality.Preferred Skills
In-depth understanding of hospitality industry financial operations, including revenue management, room and F&B operations, and event-based financial planning.Experience working with senior executives to provide financial insight and strategic recommendations.Ability to drive process improvement initiatives within financial operations.Working Conditions
