Assistant Retail Sales and Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Sales and Operations Manager at KENS Apothecary is responsible for overseeing and optimizing both the sales and operational aspects of the retail business, including Kens Apothecary and Caudalie. This role requires a dynamic and strategic leader who can drive sales growth, ensure operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience. The Sales and Operations Manager will play a key role in aligning business strategies with the company’s overall goals while leading and mentoring a high-performing retail team.

Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management – Lead and oversee the Cluster Sales Manager and Store Managers to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies and operational excellence. Provide strong leadership to retail teams, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and customer-centricity. Conduct regular on-site visits and meetings with store management teams to assess performance, address challenges, and provide support. Work closely with the Human Resources team to recruit, train, and retain top talent within the retail team. Drive motivation and engagement initiatives to maintain high levels of staff morale and productivity. Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth across all retail locations. Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute in-store sales initiatives, promotions, and campaigns. Ensure all stores achieve and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, average transaction value, and foot traffic. Monitor competitor activity and market trends to provide insights and recommendations for business development. Lead the sales planning process, including short-, mid-, and long-term strategies to ensure continuous business growth. Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and provide actionable recommendations to the management team. Work closely with the finance team to set, review, and adjust sales targets as necessary.
- Operational Excellence – Oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficiency in workflow, staffing, and compliance with company standards. Collaborate with the Stock Allocator to optimize stock availability, ensuring seamless inventory management based on sales trends and customer demands. Implement and monitor store cleanliness and visual merchandising standards to maintain brand image and appeal. Ensure store teams adhere to company policies, SOPs, and compliance standards, conducting periodic audits where necessary. Work with the other departments to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency in areas such as stock replenishment, cashiering, and customer service. Ensure that all safety and security measures are in place and followed across all stores.
- Business Expansion & Market Development – Collaborate with senior management to identify and evaluate potential new retail locations for expansion. Conduct market research and feasibility studies for new business opportunities. Drive initiatives to enhance customer engagement and loyalty through exceptional service and exclusive shopping experiences. Partner with internal teams to develop brand activation strategies, ensuring alignment with brand positioning.
- Training & Development – Partner with the education and training team to ensure continuous development of the retail team. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to drive employee growth and excellence. Ensure that all store personnel receive the necessary product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service training to maximize the store’s performance.
- Reporting & Performance Analysis – Develop and implement reporting processes to track and communicate sales performance at store and individual levels. Generate comprehensive reports on sales trends, customer insights, and operational performance for senior management. Ensure the timely submission of all required reports, including sales performance and customer feedback. Utilize POS and data analytics to derive meaningful insights and make data-driven decisions.
- Forecasting, Planning & Budgeting – Work closely with the marketing and supply chain teams to forecast sales and inventory needs based on historical data and market trends. Manage sales forecasts, budgets, and expenses to align with financial goals and targets. Develop strategic action plans to mitigate potential risks that could impact sales and profitability.
- Commission & Incentive Planning – Collaborate with Management and Human Resources to design and implement effective commission and incentive schemes that drive sales performance. Evaluate the effectiveness of incentive programs and make adjustments as needed to align with business goals. Communicate commission structures clearly to retail teams and provide regular performance feedback.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field.Minimum 4–6 years of relevant retail experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or multi-store leadership role .Proven experience in luxury retail , beauty , cosmetics , or fragrance industry is highly preferred.Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and managing operational efficiency in a multi-store environment.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse retail teams.Experience managing Store Managers or similar leadership roles across multiple locations.Ability to motivate teams , resolve conflicts, and maintain high employee morale.Exceptional understanding of retail KPIs , including conversion rate, ATV, UPT, and sales per square foot.Analytical thinker with strong ability to interpret sales data , identify trends, and create action plans.Track record of successfully developing and executing sales strategies to achieve aggressive sales targets.Proven ability to streamline store operations , improve SOPs, and implement operational best practices.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is a plus.Hands-on experience in developing training programs , onboarding , and upskilling retail staff .Agile and adaptable to a fast-paced , multi-tasking , and ever-evolving retail environment.Willingness to travel to retail locations and perform hands-on involvement on the ground as needed.#J-18808-Ljbffr
