Senior Lead Engineer, Process Safety

We are currently based at KL Eco City, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

Independently develop and review corporate Process Safety procedures, and review other corporate standards for consistent application of Process Safety Management and MAHs throughout the lifecycle of the fleet / facility.

Provide process safety technical expert advice at corporate and global levels based on MODEC and industry standards, considering the entire lifecycle of the facility.

Prepare and review HSSE Design Philosophy and other process safety-related philosophies. Provide guidance to proposals / projects for compliance with company standards, client and regulatory safety requirements.

Develop scope of work, perform safety consultant bid evaluations, participate in workshops, plan, review and deliver safety studies / deliverables with outcomes ALARP where applicable.

Lead safety studies, define Safety Critical Elements (SCEs), manage design reviews, and track EPCI assurance tasks to ensure SCEs are designed, procured, constructed, commissioned and installed to meet performance standards for MAEs prevention and mitigation.

Coordinate and manage risk consultants / subcontractors to ensure timely, budget-conscious risk assessment work.

Instruct and guide process safety engineers, review risk assessments, prepare deliverables, and collaborate with other disciplines to minimize mistakes and improve efficiency.

Ensure compliance with safety-related systems and regulatory requirements, minimize deviations from company standards, and support timely delivery of projects and first oil milestones.

Collaborate with proposal / project teams to achieve project / engineering performance goals and address regulatory audits and non-conformities as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Proven experience in process safety engineering within offshore oil and gas, with a focus on MAHs, risk assessment, and safety studies.

Strong knowledge of process safety management standards and industry best practices.

Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating with external consultants / subcontractors.

Ability to deliver quality safety studies and deliverables on time and within budget.
