Job Purpose

The School Counsellor is responsible for supporting the social, emotional, and academic well-being of students and contributes to a positive school climate.

Key Responsibilities

• Academic Support : Assist students with course selection and scheduling; identify learning difficulties and provide academic intervention strategies; monitor academic progress and work with students on goal-setting and study habits.
• Personal and Social Development : Provide individual and group counseling on personal or social issues; help students develop communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills; address issues such as bullying, peer pressure, family challenges, and self-esteem.
• Crisis Intervention and Prevention : Respond to emergencies and provide immediate support or referrals; collaborate with outside mental health professionals and community agencies; implement programs on drug awareness, suicide prevention, and healthy relationships.
