Overview
To assist the entity in managing regulatory (AML & Sanctions) and reputational risk requirements set out in relevant law and regulations, and global policies communicated by GM-CO. To assist in refining Trade Documents in Commerzbank Trade Finance Compliance automation tool (Trade AI) with high data quality and adherence to SLA.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate compliance with applicable banking and securities laws, regulations, and internal guidelines regarding AML / CFT and Sanctions.
- Perform Sanctions screening in PELICAN OFAC (Sanction screening tool of Commerzbank).
- Perform AML and Sanction screening on Export / Import Letters of Credit, Guarantees, and Import / Export Collections (SWIFT Messages).
- Perform AML and Sanction screening on transport documents presented by presenting bank.
- Perform Voyage Check and Dual Use Goods check.
- Ensure high quality AML and Sanctions screening, reflected in quarterly desk reviews.
- Report and escalate all violations and suspicious behavior to TCC Compliance Officer.
- Maintain Due Diligence at the highest level of quality to protect the Bank from regulatory risk.
- Ensure awareness and full compliance with regulations, policies, guidelines, procedures and practices.
- Respond to email and queries from internal customers and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Daily trade documents refinement completed according to set SLAs / targets.
- Unload and load documents into Trade Finance Compliance automation tool.
- Drive improvement in systems, processes and methodologies.
- Escalate errors to Line Manager and Project Team as required.
- Apply best practices to ensure performance, quality and responsiveness of reports and dashboards for the Trade Finance Compliance automation tool.
- Provide feedback on improvements required for the Trade Finance Compliance automation tool to the Project Team.
- Understand big data, data architecture, and efficient data manipulation; understand each application's batch flow, timing, and dependencies.
- Keep track of business and technical solutions; perform other tasks as assigned by Head of Due Diligence Team.
Formal Education
University degree or similar, preferably in Banking, General Management or Law.
Skills & Requirements
2 - 4 years’ experience in Sanctions Screening / TBMLFamiliar with Sanctions Screening methodologyExperience in Voyage Check through IMB / IHS or other service providersWell versed in dual use goods and HS Code terminology5 years overall experience in Banking & FinanceGood knowledge and understanding of International Sanctions & Embargoes RegulationGood knowledge in Trade Based Money LaunderingACAMS Certified / ICA TBML SpecialistWorking hours : Monday - Friday (9am - 6pm). Requires working on Malaysian public holidays.
