We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to lead our Malaysia finance operations. You will be reporting to the SEA Financial Controller and managing a team of 8. Also, you will be overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness. The key responsible in this role is to support strategic decision‑making, driving operational efficiency, and maintaining financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management :
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
- Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Accountable for the month‑end closing, ensuring timeliness, completeness & accuracy, with an equal share of focus between the Income Statement and the Balance Sheet.
- Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor credit risks and periodically update the Business on receivables matters.
- Maintain proper process & controls around account payables activities.
- Maintain robust internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and reporting standards.
- Liaise with external tax advisors on the preparation of the Corporate Tax Returns.
- Business Partnering & Strategic Support :
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive cost optimization and operational efficiency.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning processes.
- Identify & actively work on process improvements, working closely with various stakeholders to continuously drive process efficiency.
- Technical Expertise : Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- Leadership : Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Analytical Thinking : Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication : Clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Systems Proficiency : Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.

- Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy with at least 8 years of relevant working experience, including at least 3 years of team supervisory experience.
- Experience working in external audit will be an added advantage.
- Professional Certification such as CPA, ACCA or ICAEW qualification.
- Experience in managing country‑level finance operations and leading teams.
- Successful track record of process improvements.
- Highly analytical with good business acumen and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills.
- Self‑motivated, independent, and versatile team player.
- Willing to work onsite at Shah Alam Office.
