Job Title : Human Resource Manager (International School)
Role Summary
The HR Manager will lead the human resources function for the school, ensuring that policies, practices, and systems support a positive, professional, and inclusive working environment. The role requires close collaboration with the Directors, Principal, academic faculty, and non-academic staff to foster strong working relationships and support the school’s mission of academic excellence and holistic student development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR & Stakeholder Relations
- Acts as a trusted HR partner to the Directors, Principal, academic leadership, and administrative teams.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships across all staff groups, promoting collaboration and open communication.
- Provides HR guidance to senior leadership in workforce planning, staffing, and organizational development.
- Plans and implements training needs, develops and manages training programs, career development and succession planning.
Recruitment & Talent Management
Oversees and manages the entire recruitment process and interviewing selection of both academic and non-academic staff, ensuring compliance with international school standards and safeguarding requirements.Leads onboarding, orientation, and induction programs to integrate new hires into an international school culture.Oversees staff performance appraisal processes, providing guidance to line managers and leadership.Creates job descriptions / KPI and manages performance appraisal system to drive high performance, productivity and accountability.HR Operations & Compliance
Develops, reviews, and implements HR policies aligned with school values, local labor laws, and international best practices.Ensures adherence to safeguarding, child protection, and other compliance requirements specific to international schools.Oversees payroll, contracts, benefits administration, and HR records management.Oversees the work of HR specialists and support staff.Employee Relations & Engagement
Serves as the first point of contact for staff queries and grievances, ensuring fair advice and transparent resolution.Designs and implements staff well-being, recognition, and professional development initiatives and fosters a positive work environment.Promotes a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion across the school community.Manages disciplinary and termination procedures.Administers and oversees programs for employee compensation, benefit like health insurance, tuition fee discounts, course sponsorship and special privileges according to seniority and leave.Conducts salary and benefits reviews periodically.Qualifications & Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (A Master’s degree in a similar discipline will be an advantage).5–7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in an educational or multicultural environment.Good understanding of labor legislation, HR policies, and international school compliance standards.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, teaching faculty, and support staff.High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.Key Attributes
