The Territory Sales Professional is responsible for a territory or geography. The performance of the salesperson is based on the sales within that geography. This role is responsible for executing sales strategies that meet corporate objectives of sales and earnings growth.
General Responsibilities
- Responsible for new account development and / or expanding existing accounts within an established geographic territory / product line.
- Pursue sales leads
- Lead in visits to existing and new customers
- Analyze customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services
- Respond to customer enquiries; and conclude sales orders to meet established revenue targets
- Innovates and creates sales skills and knowledge of the organization's products, services, and customers
- Perform supplier audits on site at distributor warehouse locations
- Identify and implement efficiency opportunities such as distributor dashboards, etc.
- Initiate regular communication with distributors to mitigate shipment errors and discrepancies
Experience / Qualifications
A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experienceMust be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demandsStrong communication skills; oral, written and presentationStrong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve resultsStrong personal and professional ethical values and integrityHolds self-accountable to achieving goals and standardsProficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and / or external customers
