Overview
Oversee the daily operations of the job site to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Ensure that job activities are carried out according to project plans and specifications. Coordinate the work of subcontractors, workers, and other site personnel.
Responsibilities
Safety Management :
Enforce safety policies and ensure that all workers adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions as needed.
Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures.
Quality Control :
Monitor the quality of work on site to ensure it meets the required standards and specifications.
Perform inspections to ensure job work is executed according to the approved designs and technical requirements.
Address any quality issues promptly and communicate with relevant parties to resolve them.
Resource Management :
Supervise the proper use of materials, equipment, and tools.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
Ensure that the workforce is working efficiently and effectively, providing direction as necessary.
Team Coordination :
Manage and lead site workers, providing direction and support as needed.
Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and resolve conflicts.
Conduct regular meetings with the team to provide updates, review progress, and discuss any challenges.
Documentation and Reporting :
Maintain accurate daily logs, including records of work completed, materials used, and any incidents or issues on site.
Report on project progress, delays, and other issues to the Project Manager / Project Engineer.
Ensure that all required permits and approvals are in place before work begins.
Schedule and Budget Management :
Help create and manage the project schedule, ensuring work is completed according to deadlines.
Monitor labor and material costs to stay within budget, reporting any issues to senior management.
Identify potential delays or issues and suggest solutions to keep the project on track.
Problem Solving :
Address and resolve any issues that arise on site, such as delays, conflicts, or technical difficulties.
Liaise with engineers, architects, and other professionals to solve problems and ensure smooth project execution.
Regulatory Compliance :
Ensure that all work complies with local building codes, environmental regulations, and other relevant standards.
Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and legal requirements.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience : Previous experience as a Site Supervisor or in a similar role within construction or a related industry.
Skills :
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and quality standards.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Certifications (optional) :
OSHA certification (or equivalent safety certification).
First aid and CPR certifications.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment when needed.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
