Project Manager, NPI

Overview

Leading a project team to develop and transfer new optical components to high volume manufacturing according to a stage gate product development and NPI process. In charge of budget, timelines, resources and overall risk management. Responsible for project controlling and reporting. Close collaboration with customer and internal stakeholders. Work cross-functionally with multiple groups including NPD, NPI, R&D, Quality, SCM, Purchasing and Manufacturing to achieve all needed deliverables during the different project phases and to achieve final project KPIs (quality, cost, product performance). Summarize complex problems, develop actions to address them, and build consensus across teams to drive for solutions. Leading of task forces to overcome quickly critical issues during the product development phase.

Responsibilities

• Idea generation : Provides recommendations for future projects in coordination with the supervisor.
• Project Planning : Forms project team. Prepares detail planning with regard to project schedule (defines project phases and milestones) and agrees upon with management committee and customer. Plans and monitors project budget.
• Project Execution : Delegates and coordinates tasks and leads sub project leaders and work package leaders methodically and as necessary with regard to content. Executes, monitors and tracks project relevant activities. Executes time and result oriented progress controls. Represents the project to the management committee. Decides on necessity of external resources or partners, conducts negotiations for an appropriate execution of tasks in due time. Ensures contract-relating as well as economic- and patent-protected issues of technologies / developments during the projects. Leads projects in accordance with SCHOTT guidelines and ensures compliance of the project goal regarding time, costs and quality on the basis of QM specifications. Prepares and presents the results, documents project results in accordance with QM specifications.
• Project Control : Documents project progress, presents results. Informs management committee or line manager regarding project progress.
