Responsibilities
Role : Lead the Royalties Processing (Inbound) operations for the Asia Pacific region, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, reporting to the SVP Global Rights and Royalties.Oversee and complete royalty cycles for responsible territories (e.g., HK, China, Taiwan, ASEAN, South Korea) and lead a dedicated team responsible for matching, ingestion, and reconciliation of inbound royalty data into Warner Chappell Music’s system.Act as the regional representative to drive process improvement, change management, and strategic alignment across APAC territories.Drive operational excellence, regional alignment, and execution of royalty processing hubs in the APAC region.Collaborate with digital licensing and finance teams to operationalize digital licenses; evaluate third-party processing partners and DSPs.Participate in quarterly business reviews and improve approval turnaround times.Maintain robust validation processes and resolve discrepancies; ensure timely and accurate completion of royalty cycles across all income types.Develop methodologies for royalty allocation and payment; contribute to global standardization efforts and resource deployment.Identify and implement technology solutions to enhance processing workflows; act as Asia lead stakeholder in collaboration with WMG Technology.Lead initiatives to improve workflows, change management, and align regional efforts with global transformation strategies.Establish QA protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance with legal and contractual obligations; complete SOX audit processes where applicable.Define and report OKRs; generate performance analytics and insights for senior leadership; prepare reports for business meetings.Build and maintain relationships with writers, clients, PROs, DSPs, and third-party partners; collaborate with finance, publishing administration, digital licensing teams and local business leads.Qualifications
Proven experience in income processing within music publishing or a related industry (e.g., media and entertainment).Strong understanding of royalty structures, copyright law, and music contracts.Experience modeling royalty allocations and managing deferred income / revenue.High numeracy and ability to manipulate data; comfortable analyzing high volumes of data.Project management experience (Agile preferred) and change leadership.Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).Proficiency in financial data tools, preferably Excel (Advanced); Power Query, SQL, Alteryx, Data Brew is a plus.Demonstrated success in managing global / regional teams and standardizing processes; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong written and spoken English; Mandarin Chinese; Korean or other Asian languages a plus.We’d Love It If You Also Had
