Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality of food served is of the highest standard appropriate to the area.
- Assist in training within your department and attend training sessions as required by hotel standards.
- Manage stocks and control wastage effectively.
- Help maintain and improve upon the budgeted food costs.
- Provide courteous and professional service, promptly addressing guest complaints and communicating with the head chef.
- Assist the sous chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene.
- Foster good working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety standards within your department.
- Understand and comply with the hotel’s employee handbook and regulations.
- Create and sustain effective working relationships with colleagues and managers.
- Oversee the ordering of all fresh produce and dry goods for the kitchen.
- Follow all company procedures regarding fire safety, health & safety, food hygiene, and security.
