Role Overview :
The General Manager holds overall responsibility for steering the company’s strategic direction, financial performance, and daily operations. Acting as the key connector between the board, management team, and operational departments, the GM ensures seamless coordination, business efficiency, and sustainable growth. This position leads senior managers across multiple functions to deliver strong commercial outcomes and operational excellence in alignment with the organization’s mission and core values.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide strategic leadership by translating the company’s vision, mission, and annual goals into clear, actionable business plans.
- Lead management meetings to review progress, address challenges, and ensure cross-functional alignment toward key business objectives.
- Partner with the Directors on financial planning, major investments, and strategic initiatives requiring board approval.
- Develop and oversee execution of company-wide strategies that support revenue growth, export expansion, and long-term competitiveness.
- Review and present monthly business reports summarizing financial, operational, and people performance metrics.
- Oversee daily business operations across manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, warehouse, and administration functions.
- Ensure strong coordination between commercial departments (sales, marketing, finance, HR) and on-ground operations to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Strengthen operational systems, SOPs, and controls to improve productivity, scalability, and compliance.
- Maintain full compliance with relevant quality and food safety standards including ISO, GMP, HACCP, HALAL, and Organic certifications.
- Promote continuous improvement in cost efficiency, output quality, and overall process effectiveness.
- Drive financial and commercial performance by managing P&L results and achieving profitability targets.
- Work with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure disciplined financial management.
- Monitor commercial performance across domestic, B2B, and export markets, ensuring alignment between pricing, investment, and ROI.
- Evaluate sales and marketing initiatives for impact, profitability, and contribution to long-term growth.
- Lead and develop the management team, ensuring clarity of accountability, performance discipline, and leadership development.
- Implement HR strategies that support capability building, succession planning, and workforce engagement.
- Conduct regular reviews with department heads to monitor progress, identify gaps, and provide mentorship.
- Build a cohesive, values-driven culture emphasizing teamwork, learning, transparency, and strong communication.
- Enhance employee engagement and retention by fostering a supportive, high-performance work environment.
- Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across all operations.
- Maintain effective internal controls and data integrity to support sound business decisions.
- Identify operational and strategic risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate them to the Directors.
- Lead audit preparations and ensure documentation readiness for all required certifications and regulatory audits.
- Oversee major strategic projects and organizational transitions, including the establishment of the new project to ensure a smooth and efficient startup.
- Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration for new product launches, from procurement through marketing and sales.
- Manage transformational initiatives that enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Management, Finance, or a related discipline.At least 10 years of senior management experience within FMCG, manufacturing, or export-driven environments.Demonstrated success managing both corporate and operational functions.Proven record of P&L ownership and delivering profitable growth.Familiarity with manufacturing standards and certification processes.Strategic yet hands-on leader with strong commercial and operational insight.
