The Senior Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving business growth by identifying and securing new opportunities—particularly within the government and government‑linked agencies (GLAs)—while nurturing strategic client relationships. The role involves leading outreach to public sector clients, developing tailored proposals, and collaborating closely with the Business Development Manager (BDM) or Head of Department (HOD) to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research & Opportunity Identification
Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential government and GLA clients.
Monitor public sector tenders, RFPs, and digitalisation initiatives to position the company as a preferred partner.Maintain and expand a pipeline of high‑value leads within the government ecosystem.Client Acquisition & SupportProactively engage potential clients—especially within government and GLAs—through structured outreach, networking events, and relationship‑building activities.
Lead the preparation of tailored pitches, presentations, and proposals for the public sector.Represent the company in client meetings and handle post‑engagement follow‑ups.Client Relationship ManagementMaintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, ensuring high satisfaction and identifying upselling or cross‑selling opportunities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for government accounts, ensuring compliance and alignment with public sector requirements.Proposal & Contract SupportDevelop and draft comprehensive proposals, quotes, and contract documents, ensuring they meet public sector procurement standards.
Support negotiation processes under the guidance of the BDM / HOD, with attention to government regulatory and compliance frameworks.Coordination & Operational SupportCollaborate with internal Tech, Ops, and Support teams to deliver solutions that meet public sector client needs.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and opportunity status in the CRM.Reporting & Performance TrackingTrack and report on business development activities—especially related to government deals—including lead conversion and pipeline progress.
Assist in preparing performance updates for management, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.Professional CompetenciesProven ability to engage and negotiate with government or GLA stakeholders.
