Role Description

We are looking for an Associate with 3-5 years pqe. The candidate should have a dynamic personality and be able to work comfortably in a team environment. The nature of our work is relatively fast paced and would more likely than not, involve unconventional solutions to complex legal disputes. As such, we are looking for candidates with the ability to think outside the box and can rise to the challenge of finding practical and effective legal solutions to difficult problems. A creative and curious mind with a desire to learn would be welcome.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own files and be responsible for supporting a team of lawyers. The candidate will also engage with clients and other stakeholders, and assist in the management of client relationships.

Qualifications

• A law degree from a recognized institution, preferbly Second Upper or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in a law firm or a similar role in dispute resolution
• Experience in managing a litigation portfolio independently
• Experience in attending to court hearings, both as lead counsel and in a supporting capacity, ideally in the High Court and above
• Called to the Malaysian Bar
• Excellent communication, analytical and writing skills.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
• . Ability to speak and write in a different language is a bonus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good understanding of Malaysia's legal system / Commonwealth laws
• Client-focused with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality service delivery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
