About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Accountant / Senior Accountant to support our client's regional eCommerce operations from the Kuala Lumpur office. This role will manage the end-to-end accounting cycle (AR / AP / GL), handle monthly reporting and compliance, and collaborate closely with the China finance team to ensure accuracy, transparency, and alignment across markets. You’ll play a key role in maintaining financial discipline, ensuring timely closing, and supporting the Group’s ongoing cross-border growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting Operations (AR / AP / GL) : Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) : monitor customer billings, reconcile eCommerce platform collections, and ensure timely cash application.
- Accounts Payable (AP) : process vendor invoices, verify supporting documents, and execute payments in line with internal controls.
- Maintain General Ledger (GL) : record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure proper documentation and audit trails.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and cashflow forecasts for both Malaysia and China entities.
- Ensure compliance with MFRS and collaborate with China finance teams for consistency under PRC GAAP / HKFRS.
- Support local tax filings (GST, WHT), audit processes, and ensure adherence to internal accounting standards.
- Cross-Border Collaboration & Process Improvement : Work closely with China and Hong Kong finance teams on financial alignment, reporting schedules, and intercompany transactions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity within the regional finance workflow.
- Support finance projects, system enhancements, and ad-hoc analyses as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, CPA, or CA qualification preferred.3–6 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within eCommerce, retail, or digital industries.Strong understanding of AR / AP / GL processes, month-end closing, and financial reporting.Knowledge of MFRS, with exposure to PRC GAAP / HKFRS considered an advantage.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin to liaise effectively with cross-border teams.Detail-oriented, adaptable, and proactive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentWhy Join Our Client?
