AMU DEAN, FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE

The Dean of the Faculty is a Senior Level Administrator responsible for providing leadership and fostering excellence in teaching, research and professional activities within the Faculty and the University. This position will assume responsibility for planning, setting and communicating the academic and operation vision, strategies, and goals of the Faculty and achieving them in accordance with the University’s strategic plan and governance framework. The Dean will be responsible for the Faculty’s education and research activities to have a strong impact nationally and regionally. The Dean also enables the values of the University in relation to its people and culture and provides a safe working environment for its staff and students.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership for the development and implementation of the Faculty’s strategic and operations plans.
• Develop and implement policies and initiatives to enhance academic excellence and student success.
• Lead in recruitment and retainment of Faculty members.
• Actively promote education innovation and excellence and set research directions and targets.
• Oversee the development and review of academic programs and curriculum and ensure alignment with accreditation standards and industry trends.
• Provide strategic leadership for the faculty’s accreditation activities.
• Facilitate a collaborative work environment among the Faculty members.
• Enhance student experience and support services.
• Address academic and non-academic issues affecting the students.
• Develop and manage the Faculty’s budget, allocating resources effectively.
• Lead the Faculty in its engagement with external stakeholders, including industry partners and alumni.
• Lead in the promotion of the Faculty’s reputation and programs.
• Oversee administrative function, including admissions, registration, and student services.
