Job Summary :
MSR Green Energy Sdn. Bhd. ("MSR-GE"), a leading EPCC contractor in Malaysia's renewable energy ("RE") sector, is seeking a technically competent and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer for a full-time, site-based role under a fixed 18-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and executing all civil and structural works for utility-scale RE projects, including Large-Scale Solar PV ("LSS") and potentially Battery Energy Storage Systems ("BESS").
The role will be initially based on-site in Sabah, and may subsequently be reassigned to other project sites, including locations in Peninsular Malaysia, depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and coordinate site civil works, including earthworks, site levelling, drainage, access roads, fencing, and building / structural foundations
- Oversee piling, concrete works, cable trenching, equipment plinths, and associated structural installations
- Ensure civil and structural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, geotechnical recommendations, technical specifications, and applicable standards
- Support QA / QC processes, including inspection of formwork, rebar, concrete pouring, compaction tests, and material approvals
- Monitor subcontractor performance, site progress, and quality of works; prepare daily and weekly progress reports
- Coordinate closely with internal project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and authority representatives to resolve site and design issues in a timely manner
- Review and support the preparation of redline drawings, as-built documentation, and project handover packages
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, promoting safe work practices across all site activities
Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplineMinimum 3–5 years of site-based experience in civil engineering, ideally within solar PV, substations, or large-scale infrastructure projectsStrong technical knowledge in earthworks, foundations, drainage, roadworks, and structural concrete worksFamiliarity with Malaysian regulatory and authority requirements (e.g., JKR, local councils, DOE) and relevant design / construction standardsProficient in reading and interpreting civil / structural drawings, BOQs, and technical specificationsSkilled in Microsoft Office; proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or project scheduling software is an added advantageExcellent site coordination, reporting, and communication skillsValid CIDB Green Card is required; additional certifications (e.g., Safety & Health-related) are an advantage
