MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Security Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient administration of the Security Department in ensuring security of the building and its contents, safety of the quest and employees, prevention of accidents and incidents, and liaison with relevant statutory and other relevant bodies.
Responsibilities
1.SECURITY OF BUILDING AND ITS CONTENTS
2.SAFETY OF GUESTS
Incident report form.
Liaise with the Sales Manager in advance with regard to large or special functions.
Arrange for assistance from police / traffic branch if necessary.
3.SAFETY OF EMPLOYESS
Open and search thoroughly all bags carried by staff in and out of the hotel.
Conduct body search whenever necessary and within the limits prescribed by law.
Supervise clocking in and out functions properly.
4.PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTS INCIDENTS
issue visitor passes to all outsiders in exchange for their identity cards.
Control visitors pass property.
Direct people who wish to visit staff in the hotel to the HR Department.
At 1700 hours every day, check all visitor passes and conduct a search for unaccountable visitor.
Ensure all good leaving the hotel are accompanied by an outgoing chit signed by the Department Head concerned GM / MOD and Security.
If in doubt, direct all enquiries to the Duty Manager on duty for his approval.
Regular checks on locks and availability of keys for such stores.
Ensure that unauthorized people cannot obtain keys to such stress and properly control issuance of such keys.
5.LIFE AN FIRE SAFETY
Report immediately of any defects to safety equipment to Engineering / Life Safety officer.
Actively part participate in life and safety exercises / drill in the hotel.
6. EMERGENCY AND CRISI MAMAGEMENT
Emergency procedures.
Evacuation.
Demonstration / practice.
Weekly trainings.
Familiarize Security staff with the hotel fire prevention and fire fighting procedures.
ensure that all fire hazards are removed and that staircases are free from obstructions.
7.TRANING
Ensure that staff in the division achieves consistency in standards, service excellence and product knowledge.
8. ADMINISTRATION
Require following budget for next year.
Additional equipment needed, eg. CCTV cameras ,walkie talkie / communication equipment, etc.
Identify needs and Qualifications.
Liaise with HR Department on interviews.
Ensure that all staff communicates with guest / clients in a manner that reflect the excellent reputation of the hotel.
Ensure that all staff is properly attired.
Make Security staff aware that they should protect the guest and employees of the hotel and not to harm.
Conduct training session on guest courtesy regularly.
Always observe the best behaviors and conduct at work, minding mannerism and extending excellent attitude toward both internal and external quest.
Develop and maintain good employee relations through intelligent interpretation and conscientious application of the hotel personnel policies
Wear attire acceptable to the management.
Constantly check the appearance, grooming and uniforms of staff.
9.MEETING
Bring up all outstanding points for the attention of the meeting attendees.
Make recommendations to those concerned with regard to security in their areas.
Act upon all suggestions and directions received through that meeting.
Discuss all security matters all Security staff.
Encourage ideas and recommend to hotel with security Staff.
10.CORPORATE VALUES
Attend all modules and refresher training sessions on these corporate values.
Be familiar with and apply these principles at work place all the time.
11.HYGIENE, SANITATION AND GROOMING
Be vigilant in personal hygiene for self and general employees.
Conform to and ensure compliance to grooming standards and uniformity.
12.ENVIRONMETAL CONCERNS
Always conduct your job with concern for the environment and its resources, where practical and possible, reduce use of items, and re-cycle items.
Always conscious of energy conservation, take care in handling of equipment, tools and other hotel properties.
13.LIAISON
Establish good relations with all department key personnel who have contact with the hotel (eg. Police, Fire Department, city council , etc)
Advice management as to the proper treatment of such personnel at all times.
14.MISCELLANEOUS
To take on any other tasks or projects that may be assigned by the management from time to time on security matters.
