Cloud Database Consultant – MS SQL

Develop MS SQL & Oracle solutions on Cloud, lead delivery teams in customer workshop, coordinate with multiple stakeholders in client hierarchy to engage, understand and articulate requirements to create solution. Has knowledge of one or more Public Cloud provider technologies and is capable of creating holistic solution for customer with MS SQL & Oracle database. As a DB Consultant, you will engage with clients to define and design the DB architecture and solutions. DB Consultant is responsible to engage multiple stakeholders in client hierarchy and deliver consulting services through workshops, solutioning, architecture, migrations, upgrade, performance tuning and disaster recovery engagements. This position is responsible for database planning, design, and implementation, as well as the maintenance and optimization of MS SQL & Oracle database in AWS.

This role will work closely with the clients stakeholders like DBAs, development, architecture and infrastructure teams to design and administer databases to provide and enforce contractual SLAs.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead client workshops to gather requirements, design solutions, and define database architecture for Oracle and MS SQL on cloud.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Database Developer role.
• Plan, design, implement, and maintain database environments on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, etc.).
• Hands on expert in Installation & Configuration, Schema handling, User and security management , Backup & Restore, Creating and Managing MS SQL & Oracle Databases.
• Experience in Architect level Server security, DR Replication monitoring and configuration, High Availability, Failover, Replication.
• Experience in Implementing MS SQL & Oracle related tools., Writing scripts for MS SQL and Oracle, also Database Performance tuning.
• Develop and optimize database structures to ensure data integrity, performance quality and security.
• Must have knowledge in setting up MS SQL & Oracle in a HA architecture.
• Thorough knowledge of database security best practices.
• Expert in performance analysis and resolution
• Knowledge of Planning and Implementing (scripting) backup strategies.
• Linux and windows Administration experience preferred
• Knowledge of Integration with 3rd party Monitoring Systems
• Familiarity with Virtual Machine like AWS EC2 and containers (or Docker) technologies a plus
• Excellent consulting and leadership skills with polished written and verbal skills
• Expert in problem solving, decision making, planning, organization, and documentation
• Ability to excel in a cohesive team environment
• Experience with JDBC connection pools and database integration preferred
• Communicates effectively to both technical and non-technical individuals at various levels of customer and internal organizations.
• Uses consultative techniques and skills in their services delivery.
