Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the implementation and compliance of quality assurance programs, biosecurity, and food safety standards across all layer farming operations.
  • Support continuous improvement in product quality, animal welfare, and farm hygiene, in line with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
  • Maintain a Quality Management System that complies with ISO 9001 standards and support MSPO (Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil) sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor QA procedures and SOPs in layer farms, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (DVS, Department of Health, etc.).
  • Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of layer farm operations (feed, water, environment, egg handling, etc.) to ensure hygiene, animal health, and product safety standards.
  • Investigate quality issues, non-conformance, or deviations, and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Manage documentation related to farm QA programs including ISO 9001, MSPO, and other relevant standards.
  • Update and maintain all quality system-related documents and records, ensuring all quality records are properly filed and readily accessible for audits or inspections.
  • Support farm operations in quality-related training for staff and workers (biosecurity, hygiene practices, SOPs).
  • Prepare monthly QA reports and updates for management review.
  • Lead or support internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, MSPO, certification bodies, customer audits).
  • Monitor compliance with MSPO principles related to sustainability, traceability, safety, and environmental management.

Education & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Veterinary, Food Technology, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), especially ISO 9001, and food safety standards such as HACCP and GMP.
  • Hands-on experience with MSPO implementation is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of farm biosecurity, animal welfare, and environmental management practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently.

    • Relevant Experience & Years of Service

  • Minimum 5 years of QA experience in the poultry industry, preferably in layer farming.
  • Able to make and assess personal / team decisions and align actions with organization’s vision and mission.
  • Able to establish and maintain open / trusting relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to nurture collaborative partnerships and work towards a common goal.
  • Able to contribute and encourage new ideas and approaches to support business growth; demonstrate openness to and enthusiasm for new initiatives and appropriately challenges the status quo; adapt and improvise quickly, appropriately, and decisively to internal / external changes.
  • Able to display accountability for team and personal decisions / outcomes and take proactive actions to achieve results with dedication to follow through on commitments; create plans and manage resources to accomplish and deliver self and team’s commitments.
  • Able to understand and prioritise stakeholders’ needs / expectations and develop solutions to improve service delivery.
  • Able to appreciate the complex interrelationships between external factors and internal business operations and inspires, influences, and motivates others toward a common goal for mutual success partnerships.
  • Able to nurture the culture of learning organization.
  • Able to develop strategic plans in response to market shifts and shocks to accomplish organizational goals; adaptability to changes in business landscape.
