The Operations / Facilities Executive is responsible for ensuring that the school environment is safe, well-maintained and supports the needs of the school community. This includes :
- Security and safety (SERT)
- Cleaning and maintenance of facilities
- Project and vendor management
Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the School Emergency Response Team (SERT) and prepare necessary safety measures.Ensure compliance with all local and state safety regulations, including staff training, facility inspections, and building security.Oversee the maintenance of school premises to ensure facilities remain in good working order.Maintain cleanliness standards across the property and ensure catering or vending activities meet regulatory requirements.Monitor and manage operational costs, seeking efficiencies while maintaining service quality.Manage outsourced service providers on a daily basis.Develop and oversee work schedules for outsourced staff and resolve any minor issues.Typically is responsible for the management, administration and supervision of the company’s acquisition programs.Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within approved limits and adjusting as required.Support effective cost management across operations to improve efficiency.Lead and coordinate multiple projects, including renovations and refurbishments, minimising disruption to school operations.Ensure efficient functioning of building systems and plan for upgrades. This includes :Preparing operational reports, budgets, and quotations for projects, moves and equipment
Developing renovation timelines to minimise disruption to the academic calendar and student learningCoordinating with department heads, contractors, and vendors, and managing all vendor contractsPreparing and submitting reports to government and regulatory authorities, including environmental requirementsPlanning and implementing building maintenance and operational programmes, including site safety measuresEnsuring compliance with all environmental, safety, and regulatory requirementsOverseeing facilities planning, space allocation, and utilisation.Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head of Operations.Provide administrative and operational support to the Operations Department.Job insights
