ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (DU13) – Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health
Assistant Professor – Permanent (Malaysian only). Grade DU13.
Salary range : RM6,210.00 to RM14,370.00 (based on experience). Location : Kuantan. Specialization : General Psychiatry. Faculty : Kulliyyah of Medicine, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
Scope & Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
- Develop curricula and course materials that can be used across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with faculty to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.
- Set and grade assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Conduct research and publish findings, proposals, journal articles, and books.
- Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and other events within and outside the institution.
- Engage in training opportunities and initiatives at IIUM.
- Provide support to students and colleagues.
- Stay current by reading widely and producing scholarly work.
- May function as a clinical specialist at Hospital
- Guide students on character, behaviour, and moral conduct as a moral educator.
Minimum Qualifications
Master of Psychiatry or MRCPsych (Royal College of Psychiatrists).Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language at SPM level or equivalent recognised by the Government (for Malaysian citizens).IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidates lacking these qualifications must sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.Minimum Competencies
Ability to inspire students with passion.Flexibility, resilience, and willingness to work long hours.Strong interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.Capability to function as a general specialist psychiatrist.Language Qualifications
Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language at SPM level or equivalent (for Malaysian citizens).IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4; candidates lacking these must take the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.Other Requirements
Perform moral and religious obligations toward colleagues and students.Attend meetings of IIUM authorities, boards, and committees as appointed by the constitution or the Rector, Dean, or Head of department.Participate in the general life of the IIUM community.Additional Information
