THE JOB
Budget & Operating Expenditure
- Assist with the monitoring of fleet operational annual and long-term budget, focusing on cost control measures based on current and historical analysis and trends to ensure the ships are managed and operated cost effectively.
- Coordinate, execute and monitor fleet operational administrative matters involving processing of payments for services, expenses, supplies of consumable stores, spare parts for the smooth and efficient running of vessels.
Asset Management
Assist to plan and arrange the surveys with the Classification Societies to ensure vessel’s compliance with all the mandatory, statutory / classification requirement to enable vessel to operate worldwide.Assist with the coordination of operational excellence activities together with the Superintendents and Fleet Managers to support the fleet operational strategies to ensure vessel availability, safety, and reliability and are operated in compliance with the local and international rules and regulations and meet the business needs.Assist with monthly reporting for all stakeholders.Dry-Docking & Life Extension
Assist with the planning of the periodic maintenance and dry-docking and coordinate all the necessary activities to ensure the ships’ optimum availability, reliability and safety of performance.Assist with the co-ordinate the activities of all support departments to ensure that ship support is achieved in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.Vessel Performance
Assist with the implementation of the technical guidelines for MISC vessels’ operational activities based on the regulations by the local and international maritime authorities to ensure compliance with all mandatory statutory / classification requirements.Staff Development
Attend regular team meetings to ensure a good team spirit, common understanding of team goals and increase cross functional learning. Regularly meet with the leadership to ensure alignment across the teams and discuss trends and improvement options.Networking
Develop and establish good relationships with shipyards, service providers and equipment / machinery makers.Develop own network within internal department. To be updated on relevant technical information and regulatory requirements to enhance operation and performance of current assets and meeting business objectives.THE PERSON
Possesses atleast Bachelor Degree in Marine / Maritime Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.Preferably candidate with atleast 2 years of working experience in a marine / ship manager settings, however fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.Good knowledge / familiarity with ship operations, hull / structural / machinery / piping engineering will be an added advantages.
