About the Role :
As a Senior Procurement & Supply Chain Executive, you will take ownership of the procurement process and supply chain operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality sourcing of products and materials. You will manage supplier relationships, lead negotiations, oversee logistics coordination, and ensure compliance with company standards and international trade requirements. The role requires balancing operational efficiency with strategic procurement planning, including cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation. You will also mentor junior team members, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and play a critical role in ensuring smooth product flow from suppliers to warehouses and customers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, and selection for cost, quality, and reliability.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements with suppliers and logistics providers.
- Maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Oversee purchase order creation, verification, and processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure proper handling of trade documents (e.g., PL, CIPL, PI, COO, BL, HS codes) in compliance with regulations.
- Monitor shipment schedules and resolve delays proactively with suppliers and forwarders.
- Monitor stock levels, safety stock, and lead times to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Manage replacement parts inventory, ensuring availability to support after-sales service.
- Implement supply chain optimization initiatives for cost savings and efficiency.
- Compile, analyze, and present sales, inventory, and defect rate data to support business decisions.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement continuous improvement plans.
- Forecast demand in coordination with sales and marketing teams.
- Work closely with finance, engineering, marketing, and logistics teams to ensure alignment on procurement and supply chain requirements.
- Support new product launches with procurement and supply chain planning.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior procurement / supply chain executives.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, ethical sourcing practices, and international trade regulations.
- Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or certifications (CPSM, CSCP, CIPS) is a plus.4-6 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in consumer goods, furniture, or manufacturing.Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supply chain operations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).Knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms), import / export compliance, and customs clearance.Ability to forecast demand, analyze cost structures, and interpret sales / inventory data for decision-making.Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide junior staff and drive team performance.Problem-solving mindset with ability to resolve supply disruptions quickly.Proficiency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) required; Malay or other regional languages is a plus.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure, and travel for supplier visits when needed.Seniority level
