Responsibilities
- Assist academics, researchers, and students in experiments, demonstrations, assessments and projects.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to users on equipment operation, software usage, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with faculty members to develop and implement new laboratory procedures, experiments, and protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of laboratory spaces, including workbenches, storage areas, and equipment surfaces.
- Dispose of non-hazardous and hazardous waste according to safety protocols and regulations.
- Perform regular maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, measuring instruments, hand tools, machines, microscopes, 3D printers, and other specialized devices.
- Coordinate repairs and service requests with external vendors or manufacturers as needed.
- Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance schedules, service history, and calibration procedures.
- Manage inventory of laboratory materials / supplies, consumables, and spare parts.
- Perform regular stock take, monitor stock levels, contact vendors, prepare purchase requisitions, and coordinate procurement activities with purchasing department.
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment, tools, and technologies to enhance laboratory capabilities.
- Assist administration work e.g. invigilation, student registration, exam related matters etc. whenever requested.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of laboratory facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and hazardous waste disposal guidelines.
- Provide safety training to laboratory users and promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory activities, experiments, procedures, and results.
- Prepare reports, technical documentation, and presentations for internal use and external stakeholders.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and interpretation for research projects and academic studies.
Job Requirements
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / mechatronics / electrical & electronics engineering or related field.Proficiency in using and troubleshooting a wide range of laboratory equipment, tools, and software.Strong knowledge of engineering principles, instrumentation techniques, and data acquisition systems.Hands‑on experience in mechanical / mechatronics / electrical & electronics processes, equipment and projects.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and hazardous materials handling practices.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.Proficiency in CAD / CAM software, numerical control (NC) technology, PCB manufacturing will be added advantage.Good communication skills, with good command of English Language.Vacancy is for our Batu Kawan Campus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
