Mechanical Engineer – CFD / Thermal & Mechanical Design (Icepak)
Join to apply for the Mechanical Engineer – CFD / Thermal & Mechanical Design (Icepak) role at FILPAL
Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal management, and mechanical design, including stress and vibration analysis. The successful candidate will perform thermal, structural, and airflow simulations using Icepak and other engineering tools, develop mechanical designs for enclosures and cooling systems, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize both thermal and structural performance.
Key Responsibilities
A. Thermal / CFD Analysis
- Perform CFD simulations and thermal analyses using Icepak and other simulation tools.
- Develop and validate thermal models of electronic assemblies, PCBs, and complete systems.
- Analyze airflow, heat dissipation, and temperature distribution to improve cooling performance.
- Evaluate and optimize heat sink, fan, and ventilation designs.
- Prepare detailed simulation reports and present insights to design and project teams.
- Correlate simulation results with experimental or test data for model validation.
B. Mechanical Design
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for electronic systems and enclosures.Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.Conduct stress analysis, vibration assessment, and structural simulations to ensure product reliability and durability.Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and mechanical layout optimization.Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).Support prototype builds, mechanical testing, and failure analysis to verify design integrity.Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.2–5 years of relevant experience in CFD analysis, thermal design, and mechanical or structural engineering.Proficient in Icepak; familiarity with other CFD / FEA tools is an advantage.Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, stress analysis, vibration, and materials science.Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent.Experience in electronics cooling, thermal enclosure design, or mechatronic systems is preferred.Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Python or MATLAB for post‑processing or automation of simulation data.Experience in thermal, structural, and vibration testing, and correlation with simulation results.Familiarity with fatigue, modal, and harmonic response analysis.Understanding of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, and machining.#J-18808-Ljbffr
