Job Description
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
- The SQE will be responsible for ensuring that all products and services provided by suppliers meet the necessary quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This position maintains and improves Supplier Management System which includes supplier qualifications, supplier audits, supplier corrective action process and scorecards.
- Work with suppliers on technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure the company quality objectives are achieved.
- Manage the supplier quality performance issues, serve as the liaison for suppliers, drive structural quality and process improvements, and collaborate with other engineers in a team environment.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Perform supplier evaluations, audits, and inspections to identify and resolve any issues related to quality.Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions and preventative measures to improve quality and reduce defects.Communicates product specifications to suppliers and assesses supplier’s ability to meet engineering and quality requirements.Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur.Review and approve supplier quality plans, procedures, and documentation.Review and approve supplier test reports, certifications, and other quality-related documents.Investigate and resolve quality issues and complaints related to supplier products and services.Maintain and update supplier quality records, and act as a liaison between suppliers and the company.Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, and ensure that suppliers comply with these requirements.Facilitate the supplier compliance program (Site audit, drive improvement in supplier performance, supplier development, supplier selection and qualification).Works with the internal team to drive any Supplier related improvement opportunity or Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs).Manage Supplier SCAR / CAPA / NCR and periodically provide metrics / report to Management Review Process.Reviews Supplier responses for appropriate root cause analysis and Corrective Actions to prevent re-occurrence of failure modes.Create / Maintain supplier quality agreements.Support all Procurement supplier Projects.Support all new Product Development that is intended for production at suppliers.Update SOPs and Forms related to supplier management process as needed.Collaborates with internal Quality Engineers, Inspectors and Purchasing teams on any supplier related issues.Supervise IQA personnel and activities.QUALIFICATIONS
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Automation, Electrical, Science or related fields.At least 6 years of working experience in Quality Engineering fields in a manufacturing environment and familiarization in ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO13485 manufacturing environments.Working knowledge of printing technologies including flexo, thermal, offset, digital and inkjet technology.Strong understanding of the procurement process and experience in supplier management.Strong communication and problem-solving skills with six-sigma certification are added advantages.Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Direct experience in supplier quality engineering, process development engineering, or manufacturing engineering for mechanical components or products.Strong understanding and application of root cause analysis tools with the ability to train and ensure suppliers utilize and follow standard methodology.Experience working with Google Suite and Google workplace.Highly motivated, critical thinking, detail-oriented with strong analytical, mathematical, organizational skills.Possessing strong collaboration skills in partnering with cross functional stakeholders in order to achieve objectives, as well as mediating and negotiating the needs of other areas to achieve consensus.Ability to work well across global boundaries with all levels of management, employees and willingness to work on a global time.Result oriented and ability to prioritize and meet expectations in a fast-paced environment.Able to work well in a matrixed environment and is a good collaborator and team player and willing to travel when required.Professional conduct when interfacing with suppliers.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.Able to lead a team, as a guide and mentor.Additional Information
