The individual would fulfill the role of S enior Geotechnical Engineer-Maritime on maritime engineering projects, exhibiting strong technical skills and team participation to help drive projects toward successful completion. You will report day-to-day operations to the Team Leader of Ports & Maritime, Malaysia and will report to the Technical Director of Ports & Maritime.

The work would be principally based in our design office and key responsibilities will include

Geotechnical analysis and design
data gathering and interpretation
specification and interpretation of ground investigation
FE modelling (Plaxis or similar)
Calculations, Design drawings, and Technical report writing
Specifications for construction and technical presentations to clients and in-house.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate most of the following skills and knowledge such as ;
In-depth capability in geotechnical modelling, analysis and design of earth retaining structures (for quay walls), piles (for jetties), slope stability (for revetments, breakwaters), settlement and bearing capacity analysis (for reclamations)
Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and performing engineering calculations, preparing design drawings
Able to build a team of young engineer and lead them for future growth
Onshore geotechnical works experience would be an added advantage

Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the nature of their role.

Here's what you'll need

The ideal candidate should have;

A relevant Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering and working towards obtaining Chartered Engineering thru Professional Engineering Institution

Proven ability to work in multi-disciplined teams in a fast-paced environment and an ability to present technical information, both written and verbally, in a concise and professional manner

Familiar with local submission protocols, including engagement with relevant regulatory authorities

Strong working knowledge with Local and International Design Codes and Standards

With a collaborative mindset, thrives in multidisciplinary project environments and builds effective relationship across teams.

Strong communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical audiences

With a client focused attitude, responsive, professional and attentive to interval and external stakeholders needs.
