Strong exposure to South Asia Pacific markets, with knowledge of regional business norms and legal frameworks. Expertise in employment / labor law, corporate and commercial law. Proven track record in sales / project contracting, ideally in construction, energy, oil & gas, or offshore wind sectors. Skilled in contract negotiation and administration for cross-border projects. Strong business acumen, proactive and pragmatic approach, able to balance risk with opportunity. Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills in a multicultural environment. Willingness to travel (up to 30%). Languages : Fluent English (additional regional languages a plus). Overview
Our client, a multinational corporation (MNC) and global leader providing products, services, and software to the construction, semiconductor / data center, energy / industry, and infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Regional Legal Counsel to strengthen its legal and compliance function across the South Asia Pacific region (covering Southeast Asia, India, Australia & New Zealand).
Responsibilities
- Support the Region Head of Legal & Compliance on all legal and compliance issues.
- Roll out global contracting frameworks (sales, services, software) and adapt them to local laws.
- Act as the primary advisor for employment / labor law and corporate matters across the region.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts (sales, EPC / project, corporate, tenancy, distributor, employment, services, logistics, NDAs, liability / warranty documents).
- Manage external counsels and support legal risk management across the business.
- Drive alignment and implementation of global legal initiatives and compliance policies.
- Conduct training and presentations on legal and compliance topics for business teams.
