Role Purpose

To lead the Research & Development (R&D) function, focusing on condiments, sauces, and ambient products. The role will drive innovation, transformation, and product excellence— from concept to commercialization—positioning SC Food Industries as a leading player in the food solutions and consumer packaged products market.

Key Responsibilities

Innovation & Product Development

  • Lead ideation, formulation, testing, and scaling of new condiments and sauces.
  • Develop ambient-stable products with extended shelf life without compromising taste, texture, or safety.
  • Monitor global food trends to translate insights into commercially viable products.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead the R&D team, creating a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
  • Manage resources, prioritize projects, and align R&D goals with business strategy.
  • Collaboration & Business Impact

  • Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Sales to ensure successful launches.
  • Partner with suppliers and technology providers for ingredient and process innovations.
  • Balance innovation with cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Transformation & Strategy

  • Modernize R&D systems and processes, integrating digital tools, AI, and sustainable practices where relevant.
  • Position SC Food as an innovation-driven company, differentiating its offerings from competitors.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 6+ years in R&D / product development, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in condiments, sauces, marinades, and seasonings (wet and dry).
  • Strong knowledge of ambient product formulation, processing, and shelf-life management.
  • Experience with HACCP, ISO22000, and Halal certification processes.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership skills and a passion for innovation.
