The University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) is looking for a results-oriented and strategically minded Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications to lead integrated marketing, communications, and CRM initiatives that strengthen brand visibility and support student recruitment objectives across local and international markets.
This is a middle management role that supports and aligns with the Director of Student Recruitment & Engagement. The Senior Manager will lead a marketing team responsible for executing campaigns, managing PR & communications, and optimising CRM-led engagement across the student lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring both creative flair and operational discipline to elevate the University's brand and engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
1) Strategic Branding, Demand Generation, PR & Comms
- Support the Director in implementing the overall Branding, Marketing, PR & Comms strategy aligned with UoSM's recruitment and engagement priorities.
- Develop and deliver annual marketing and communications plans targeting key student segments and decision-makers.
- Co-engage the Director in brand strategy discussions, messaging alignment, and institutional promotions across key touch points.
2) Team & Campaign Management
Lead a small team of marketers and content creators, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns, digital content, print assets, and events.Oversee paid media campaigns (e.g., Google, Meta, programmatic) and ensure all campaign elements are performance-driven and brand-consistent.Manage external vendors and agencies across creative, digital, PR, and events.3) CRM & Lead Management
Oversee end-to-end use of the CRM (Elvis) to support student enquiry, lead nurturing, and campaign performance.Develop lead scoring, drip campaigns, and email workflows to improve conversion and engagement.Work closely with the recruitment team to ensure leads are effectively segmented, tracked, and handed over for follow-up.4) Content & Communications
Manage UoSM's content strategy across owned and paid channels, including website, email marketing, social media, brochures, and video.Lead internal and external communications efforts—ensuring clarity, brand consistency, and engagement.Support the development of press releases, internal newsletters, corporate presentations, and alumni / student stories.5) Analytics & Reporting
Track performance metrics for all marketing, communication, and CRM activities; provide regular updates and insights to the Director.Use data and feedback to refine targeting, messaging, and content approaches.Maintain campaign dashboards and generate monthly performance reports.Key Requirements
Essential Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.At least 7 years of experience in marketing, including 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.Strong experience in CRM systems and email marketing (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp).Experience in media management & PR campaigns will be a plus.Proven success in leading integrated marketing campaigns across digital and offline platforms.Experience in the education sector or youth-focused industries is preferred.Skills & Attributes
