About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Contracts Manager to join our team at M K Land Holdings Berhad in Damansara Perdana, Selangor.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Head of Contracts to ensure all members operate according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Assist in reviewing contractual correspondence drafted by the Executives.
  • Assist in checking reviews carried out by Executives for proformas, EOT recommendations, VO recommendations and Final Account recommendations.
  • Draft Board paper for approval of tender awards.
  • Assist in training new staff to comply with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Supervise interns to ensure that they obtain sufficient experience according to their institution's requirements.
  • Follow up with consultants for timely submission and sufficient tenderer, registration of successful tenderer / unsuccessful tenderer.
  • Updating list of vendors / suppliers / contractors, to supervise, monitor and ensure carrying out of registration and Pre-Qualification of vendors / suppliers / contractors.
  • To assist in material sourcing, obtaining quotations and tabulation preparation for reporting to Management.
  • To assist in small contract value project, calling quotations, tabulation and recommendation.
  • Organize, manage and attend tender interviews with potential contractors.
  • To attend Client-Consultants Meetings and monitor progress of development projects.
  • To prepare Letter / Letter of Award / PO / necessary correspondence.
  • To review proformas of payment, VO approvals, EOT approvals and Final Account approvals

What we're looking for :

  • Relevant qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
  • Experience : At least 5-7 years of experience in a contracts management or administration role, preferably within the construction industry
  • Skills : Strong understanding of contract law, construction practices and project management principles; proficient in contract administration and negotiation; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Personal attributes : Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
