What We Need :
We are looking for a dynamic and pop culture‑savvy Entertainment Editor to lead and curate compelling content across global and Asian entertainment beats—including movies, TV shows, celebrity news, and trends not limited to K‑pop, K‑dramas, J‑pop, J‑dramas, C‑dramas, and C‑entertainment. You’ll be responsible for overseeing editorial coverage, generating story ideas, editing and writing articles, and staying ahead of the trends driving fandoms and entertainment culture.
Key Responsibilities :
Content Creation :
Develop, ideate, and implement creative media content strategies to grow a presence in the entertainment scene that elevates Gosu branding through website articles and social media platforms for Gosu Entertainment
Write diverse content, including news articles, reviews, features, predictions, player interviews, and game guides to keep readers informed, entertained, and engaged
Edit articles, interviews, recaps, opinion pieces, listicles, and features for clarity, accuracy, voice, and SEO
Coordinate with writers, designers, social media managers, and video editors to package content for digital audiences
Ensure localised content is translated and adapted into English
Conceptualise and curate viral and engaging short‑form entertainment content with the social and video team for the community that users enjoy sharing, including videos, images, infographics, memes, etc
Research and Accuracy :
Conduct thorough research on assigned topics to ensure content is accurate, credible, and in-depth
Stay up‑to‑date with global and Asian pop culture and entertainment news, trends, and releases to ensure timely and relevant content
Fact‑check information and verify details to maintain GosuEntertainment’s reputation for reliability and quality
SEO and Platform Optimization :
Implement SEO best practices in all written content, optimising for headlines, keywords, meta descriptions, and readability to improve search engine rankings
Utilise data analytics to monitor content performance, incorporating insights to enhance future work
Use tools like Google Analytics and Search Console to monitor performance, identify underperforming content, and optimise for engagement and visibility
Adaptability and Growth :
Adapt writing style to suit different content types and formats, such as longer features, quick news pieces, and social media posts
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance writing skills and industry knowledge, contributing to personal growth and content quality
Willingness to grow with the role and take on new editorial challenges as the brand scales
Perform other day‑to‑day duties assigned by the Head of Marketing
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit :
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communications or related field preferred
Proven experience in editing, content creation, news / article writing : Minimum 3 years of experience and above in the entertainment industry
Strong writing and editing skills with impeccable grammar and style
Must be fluent in communicating and writing in English
Bilingual or fluent in at least one of the languages is a plus : Mandarin, Korean, and / or Japanese
Advantageous to have knowledge in monitoring performance on Google Analytics
Social media savvy with an eye for virality and shareability
Culturally aware, especially when handling cross‑border fandoms and global entertainment coverage
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with breaking news and tight deadlines
